Closed-Cell Spray Foam Insulation

There are two types of foam insulation; open cell or closed cell foam insulation. The description “closed-cell” comes from the structure of the insulation material. Because of this structure, closed cell foam insulation will not absorb water and will prevent moisture from getting through the cavity to the inside of the property. Closed cell foam insulation can be used in both the roof and the cavity wall of a domestic property as well as in commercial and industrial buildings such as offices or warehouse. It is also a durable air barrier material that provides moisture resistance and strengthens your home. 

Closed-cell spray foam insulation is one of the most efficient insulating materials commercially available, with R-Values above 6.0 per inch.

Closed Cell Spray Foam Exterior Applications

  • Can be applied at very low temperatures (as low as 50F)
  • Ideal for continuous insulation solutions
  • Adds wall racking strength as well as impact resistance
  • Higher R-value* per inch – easier to accommodate high R-value* requirements in narrow spaces
  • Lower vapor permeance (can be a Class II VDR)
  • Can reject bulk water (ideal for flood zones)
  • Higher tensile and bond strength
